  • I love storms…

    …very much.
I was standing in the rain tonight, with my umbrella, watching the most excellent lightning storm I’ve seen in some time.
Amidst the scampering of unprepared natives careening in and out of each other…through the turnstiles, down the stairwells and under the cover of whatever slab of cardboard or shred of newspaper they could find…I [...]

  • I’m setting out…

    …on a new journey.
In three weeks I have to have all my possessions - including my car - packed away in a storage unit.
I’m taking one suitcase, my laptop…and as many books as I can fit in my bag…to New York City.
The off-broadway play, “Satellites” that I’ve been working on since October was picked up [...]

  • Dear AAA…

    …I love your car batteries.
I left my lights on all day while I was in class. Nine hours…
…and when I went out to my car to start it up…that baby fired up without a problem.

  • Check this out and show a little support for my good friends up north…

A group of students from the University of Washington have developed a ground-breaking new tool for Facebook. The application lets people register to vote directly from Facebook.
Unlike other tools, users don’t have to print a form and mail it in. The registration process is instant, and voters receive ballots in the mail by November.

  • Journalism…

…may not be one of my strengths.
I was asked to write a piece about the Superbowl. Now, I know it’s been some time since the game itself, but this just got it’s first round of approvals to get published.
I could have written anything about the game, the commercials, the halftime show…anything. But everyone writes about the [...]

  • I’m going to ask you…

…to make an investment.I’ve been doing a lot of research lately on (what I perceive to be) successful writing techniques.
This recently-acquired passion of mine (creative writing) has created quite a turn in how I spend my (not really) free time.
The purpose of this post is to share with you a new style of comedic writing, [...]

  • This is another example of…

…cops thinking they deserve so much god damn respect,And why I refuse to give it to them.“I’m not ‘man.’ I’m not ‘dude,’ I am Officer Rivieri.”

  • The word bittersweet…

    …comes to mind.
The wind and rain cleared the view from the beach to the mountains.
There’s a crystal-clear, blue sky…lined by snow-capped mountains - that only a few days ago were being suffocated by the Pacific-bred nimbostratus.
I should really be able to enjoy this much more than I am…
    …but no.
